Throughout his 32 years as a physical therapist, Louie has presented at many National Conferences, initially in Australia and New Zealand, and more recently in the USA and Spain. La Prade is an internationally recognized orthopaedic surgeon who joined The Steadman Clinic in 2010 and specializes in the treatment of complex knee injuries. La Prade acts as the Chief Medical Research Officer. La Prade is a former collegiate athlete who graduated from medical school at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
His presentations focus on manual therapy theory and practice, neurodynamics, and more recently, on the motor control issues surrounding pain sciences and pain science education. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the Michigan State University Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in 1993 and his sports medicine fellowship at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia in 1994.
He has presented this approach to Physiotherapy at the Australian Institute of Sport & various provincial, state and National conferences.
In addition to his work as a clinician & teacher, Matthew has also served as therapist to the Canadian Cross Country ski team, Alberta Alpine ski team & as a consultant to the PGA tour, Canadian U23 Rugby team & Nike's Team Oregon project.
He is an active educator and teaches musculoskeletal diagnosis and rehabilitation methods to Physical Therapists on a National and International level.
